DeVito Gets First Crack at Makin' Whoopi on "View"

Danny DevitoTMZ has exclusively learned that the first guest on the season premiere of "The View" will be none other than that limoncello-swillin' fluffer-lover himself, Danny DeVito.

DeVito will be visiting the new "View" on Sept. 4, which will also be Whoopi Goldberg's first day in the moderator's seat. His last appearance, of course, followed a night of boozy debauchery (and seven limoncellos) with pal George Clooney, and led to one of the more classically nonsensical talk-show-guest appearances in recent history, full of Three Stooges references and plenty of bleeped-out banter.

Of course, DeVito made out pretty well after his limonization -- he ended up starting his own line of limoncellos this year, called Danny DeVito's Premium Limoncello. No word on whether the green room will be stocked with the tart beverage.

We're also told that "The View's" first week will include appearances by Clive Owen, Regis Philbin, Larry David, and Rachael Ray.

92. I try to watch the view without Rosie but it's boring. They tried to give away a car today to drum up excitement but snnnnoooooze! I turned the channels. Good luck to Danny DeVito on his return to the view. Remember all the creepy media people will be watching your every move, so don't pick anything or you will be on you tube faster than lightning.

they have this great story about this republican senator who was getting sex in a toilet of the Minn Airport and plead guilty to it and not one word was mentioned on hot topics. How boring!

93. If Elisabeth is still there, I 'm not watching. She's the rude, obnoxious little kid in the room, who should be sent to her room and made to stay there! No thankyou, I've had enough of her!

94. Someone said there's at least one Republican on the View...the others need someone to beat up on, don't they???? That's what liberals do.

95. I'm willing to give Danny DeVito another chance and will definitely watch The View. I've been looking forward to their new season since the new shows stopped in mid-summer. I especially look forward to NO ROSIE. I really like the Hot Topics segments of the show but she would never let anyone get a word in edgewise, especially if they dared disagree with her. I've always loved Whoopi but will reserve judgement on her moderating skills until I've seen her do a few episodes. I think she'll be great but, then again, I thought that about Rosie too.

96. I like Danny Devntoe,I prbably miss spelled his name, but I enjoy his movies.
He is playing a character to it fullist extent. Some of these comments, are
from morons. And as we all know, our great country with free speech, creates

97. The View better get something on that can hold people's attention, because it has become so "milk white" since Rosie left it's a drag. Elizabutt and Babs talk about breast feeding, potty training, bra sizes, and recipes. A real valid discussion can't take place because EH becomes so annoyed at even the slightest mention of anything political, that she has a meltdown. Pat at #8 is right on with her assessment of EH. She needs to learn how to debate like an adult instead of a spoiled brat who only wants her way. I'll be anxious to see if Whoopi can control her any better. She needs a muzzle!

98. Oh yeah, like republicans are doing this country a whole lot of good. The war in Iraq, a joke of a justice department, the constitution in shambles, a moron as president, scandal everywhere you look, zero homeland security, New Orleans--gone. But hey, look out for those liberals! They're the real bad ones.

99. What makes me crazy in America. Rosie quit! She did NOT get fired! I'm so tired of people getting their facts wrong.

Maybe TMZ could set an example of stories that turned out not to be true but went around the world anyway.

the first story could be Rosie....TMZ hounded Rosie daily with inaccurate accounts of what happened on the view.

I do believe even TMZ did get that Rosie QUIT and was NOT fired!

Hey why haven't TMZ written about the republican senator that was outted in the toilet for male prostitute solicitation. I love that he pleaded guilty in court but tried to cover it up by not hiring an attorney and trying fly under the radar but got caught anyways. Love that story.

100. to FrrrFddd, there are other channels to watch.. all you (wood) would need to do is turn the channel if you don't like "The View". As for Elisabeth, I don't agree with her views, especially on the president, but she has a right to her opinion. I love watching The View just because of the differences of opinions. I'm sort of glad Rosie is gone, not because she's gay but because she is loud and because she is rude. I am especially happy that Whoopi is joining the show...she is not only funny but I think she will bring a new prespective to the show....You Go Girls!

101. It will be good to see the new season. Let's hope for positive, upbeat attitudes now that Ms. O'Donnell has finally taking her bitter and angry self somewhere else. Good Ridance. I'd much rather watch a silly, short, drunk man and a whacky comedienne who makes me laugh than that irritable woman................I will tune back in to the show now that she is gone. Great new hosts !

102. Rosie was the worst thing to happen to the View. She was so bummed out after losing her own show a few years back, that she was glad to finally be in the limelight again, and tried every oppurtunity she had to be the center of attention. Rosie was good on her own show, but she just couldn't play nice with others. After Rosie appeared on the View, I stopped watching it. Now that she has been "sacked", cause lets face it, she did not ask to leave, she was booted out the door, I have once again happily resumed my watching of this show. I cannot wait to see it Whoopie on the show.
